The S-T ISD Board of Trustees will meet Monday, November 14th. The Board will introduce new staff members Michael Gain and Angeline Alaniz, and recognize the State qualifying FFA Land Judging team and Boys and Girls Cross Country teams.
Discussion items in Monday's meeting will include the 2006-07 budget planning calendar, district-wide restroom upgrades, and per Board President Rick Olivares, "recent high school resignations." Mr. Olivares further requests the superintendent create a "Specified Personnel and Financial Report" under Consent Agenda-Action Items; and requests the superintendent "Retain Legal Counsel (Mr. Cruz) for the Board of Trustees at the January 2006 Regular Board Meeting for the Purposes of the Superintendent's Evaluation" The latter item has "no known District precedence" according to the board informational packet so we here at the Signal are curious to learn why Mr. Olivares has requested the district attorney's presence.
Action Items include Consideration and Possible Action to Accept the 2004-05 Fiscal Year Financial Audit, Consideration and Possible Approval of Second Reading; Adoption of Updated (LOCAL) Policy 76, and (per Mr. Rick Olivares) Discussion and Possible Action to Clarify and Amend Board Policy DGBA (Local) Employee Complaints/Grievances.
