Thursday the Skidmore-Tynan Bobcat Junior Varsity suffered their first loss of the season in what turned out to be a defensive battle. The final score between the Mathis Pirates Junior Varsity and the Bobcats was 14-6. The Bobcats kicked off to start the game and the Pirates moved the ball down the field on a 65 yard scoring drive. The Bobcat defense was able to prevent the Pirates from converting the 2 point conversion. On their first two offensive possessions the Bobcats moved the ball both on the ground and through the air, but failed to score when they entered the red zone on both occasions as a result of fumbles. However the Bobcat defense held strong and the score was Mathis 6 Skidmore 0 at halftime. During the second half the Bobcats scored on a 9 yard reception by #30 J.D. White. During a Bobcat 2 point conversion attempt the Pirate defense intercepted a pass and ran it back for 2 points. Both the Bobcat offense and defense continued to fight hard in what ended up being a 14-6 defeat.
