Sandoval Website Documents Child's Battle with Cancer

Despite the great progress we reported back in November, (Parents Thankful for Child's Miraculous Recovery), little Jace Sandoval and family still have a difficult road ahead of them. Jace, who was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer in early 2007, is the son of former KFTX "Real Country" remote events coordinator "Big Josh" Sandoval. We are happy to report Jace now has his own website, SaveJace.org, where supporters can keep up with his progress and donate to his medical fund. "There is a clickable link after each update that enables ANYONE to leave a comment," reports father Josh Sandoval. "Jamie loves reading comments from everyone and she even reads them to Jace!"

Back in February, Signal readers learned of the plight of little Jace Sandoval who was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer. Jace is the son of former KFTX "Real Country" remote events coordinator "Big Josh" Sandoval. We asked readers to send donations to Jace's medical fund and to pray for his rapid recovery. Hello Everyone,

We just received some news that made us Drop To Our Knees in Praise and Weep with Happiness!

Jamie has been hounding me to ask the Dr. EVERYDAY, how one knows when a patient is able to be a candidate for "Remission"???? So this morning, when he came by to do the "Omaya Reservoir" procedure on Jace, I asked him. "Dr., when is it that you would know that Jace is a candidate for Remission????" he proceeds to tell me that "Remission is a Term he typically uses for Leukemia and Lymphoma Patients"....

So, I nod my head yes and say "I understand" he then mentions... Jace's Case is different so I can't say that he is in Remission cause Remission means "subsiding of the symptoms of a disease"... He proceeds to tell me if I had to call it something, I would refer to it as "JACE HAS NO EVIDENCE OF ILLNESS!!!"

His past 3 MRI's show no change, the past 6 Tests on his "CSF - Central Spinal Fluid" have come back showing no Malignant Cells, and the Pathologist Report from Monday (10-22) on his CSF has come back Negative!

Did we hear correctly???????? "NO EVIDENCE OF ILLNESS?!??!?!?!?!" That's the words straight out of the Dr.'s mouth.......

He also mentioned that the hardest thing for Dr's to do is figure out "how many treatments is "enough" and "when to stop"" Well in Jace's Pilot study, all information is taken from patients going 10 rounds of chemo, so we will continue on with 3 more treatments. Well, that is the plan right now unless something changes and Dr. decides to do less. But for now we continue through 3 more rounds of chemo which will bring us to April, Jace's 3rd Birthday!

Save Jace Team Roping Benefit

The Save Jace Team Roping Benefit will begin with books from 7 to 8 a.m. and roping to start at 8:30 a.m., on Saturday, March 31, at the Broken Spur Arena, Hwy. 359 and FM 70 in Sandia. All proceeds will go to the family of Jace Sandoval to help with his fight against cancer. Prizes will be awarded and entry is $5 for spectators. A show and dance will follow the roping. Family of Cancer Stricken Toddler Needs Financial Assistance

Listeners to KFTX "Real Country" radio out of Corpus Christi will recognize "Big Josh" Sandoval as the station's former Remote Events representative. I met Josh through my work on the KFTX website and he's just as friendly and likable in person as he sounds over the airwaves.

Unfortunately, the Sandoval family's lives have recently been turned upside down. Two weeks ago, Josh's son Jace was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer. Medical bills are rapidly overwhelming the family and they desperately need the support of the South Texas community. Corpus Christi's KIII TV3 was the first to report on little Jace's plight in their story Cancerous Brain Tumor Pains Family of 21-Month-Old.
