Former Trustees Alice Gonzales and Minnie McGee Presented with Appreciation Plaques
A Regular Meeting of the Board of Trustees of Skidmore-Tynan ISD was held Tuesday, June 13, 2006 in the S-T ISD Board Room.
Student athletes named to the All District Baseball and Softball teams received special recognition at the meeting. Representing Ladycats Softball were: Elizabeth Torres - 1st Team, Nicole Hudson - 2nd Team, Valerie Flores - 2nd Team, Britany Menchaca - Honorable Mention, and Courtney Hudson - Honorable Mention. Student athletes named to the All District Baseball team were: Jordan Haws - 1st Team, Ricky Gutierrez - 2nd Team, Garrett Gonzales - 2nd Team, Ben Mengers - 2nd Team, Bubba Gonzales - Honorable Mention, and Adam Aguilar - Honorable Mention.
Also receiving recognition were former S-T ISD Trustees Alice Gonzales and Minnie McGee who were each presented with a plaque honoring their years of service to the district.
There were no comments in the Public Forum portion of the meeting.
The scheduled closed session item Discussion of Real Property Acquisition was tabled by the administration pending additional information. The Board adjourned to closed session for: Discussion of Services at the Elementary School for a Student with Special Needs. No action was scheduled on this item.
Action Items on Tuesday's Board agenda included:
- To make/take action, decision, determination, or vote on Boards approval last spring of a vehicle (Suburban) for 2005-2006 fiscal year. (Mr. Rick Olivares). The board took no action on this item.
- Consideration and Possible Approval of Amended Board Policy FDA (Local). This item was tabled pending further consideration by the administration.
- Consideration and Possible Approval of the Recommended Compensation Plan for the 2006-2007 School Year. This item was approved (after an unscheduled closed session discussion) with exception to salary increases for the Superintendent and Athletic Director.
- Consideration and Possible Approval of Personnel Recommendation(s). Trustees approved the hiring of 2nd Grade teacher Lisa Favre and Science teacher and Coach Amanda Stafford.
- Consideration and Possible Approval of District-Wide Purchase: Retro-Fit Dry Erase Markerboards. This item was approved.
- Consideration and Possible Approval to Allow Staff and Consultants to Proceed With Document Preparation for the Possible Issuance of Bonds. This item was approved following a brief presentation by Victor Quiroga of Southwest Securities.
Next month's meeting of the S-T ISD Board of Trustees is scheduled Monday, July 10, 2006 at 6:00 p.m.
