Class of 2006

Valedictorian Sara Schirmer addresses her fellow graduates.

Students and parents celebrated the graduation of the Class of 2006 Thursday, June 1, 2006 at the S-T ISD Events Center. Band Director Florencio Lara led the High School band in the Processional as Graduates entered the Events Center Gymnasium.

Former S-T graduate Tim Stowe sang the Star Spangled Banner. The Invocation was delivered by Senior Luz Espinosa, followed by Superintendent, Dr. Brett Belmarez' Welcome and Introductions.

Senior Rob Boscamp introduced former Bee County Judge Jose Aliseda as the evening's commencement speaker. Mr. Aliseda spoke of his experiences on the Texas Board of Pardons and Parole and encouraged graduates to avoid the mistakes made by so many young people who fall prey to drugs and poor life choices.

High School Principal Patricia Holubec introduced S-T HS 2006 Salutatorian Stephanie Estrada and Valedictorian Sara Schirmer, each of whom delivered excellent commencement addresses, speaking of their appreciation of the support of their families and wonderful memories shared with classmates.

Special Awards and Scholarships were announced by High School Counselor, Helen Favre, followed the Certification of the Class by Dr. Brett Belmarez and Presentation of Diplomas by School Board President Mr. Rick Olivares.

Alyssa Drake delivered the Benediction.
