The Bobcat baseball team started the season off right with an 8-4 win over the Yorktown Wildcats. Darby House pitched the first few innings and showed impressive control of a sharply breaking curve ball. We are uncertain at this point whether relief pitcher Zach Petrus may have set a a new school record for batters "hit by pitch" with an unofficial count of 7 over the course of the evening, or even if such statistics have been recorded in the past. At any rate, pitching ace Ricky Gutierrez successfully closed out the game, securing the Bobcat win.The Bobcats will next compete in the annual Odem baseball tournament on Friday and Saturday, February 22nd and 23rd.
