The Bee County Junior Livestock and Homemakers Show is holding their Award Ceremony today, Saturday, February 5th at 12:00pm.  The Premium Sale will be held today at 2:00pm.

Horse Show Today

The Bee County Junior Livestock and Homemakers Show - Horse Show is today, January 29th starting at 9:00am.  This is an all  day event held at the Bee County Expo Center in the Arena.

2011 Show Queen & Princess Crowned

The Queen and Princess for the 2011 Bee County Junior Livestock and Homemakers Show were crowned this evening at the Bee County Expo Center.  Congratulations to Ms. Korrie Rader, 2011 Show Queen & Ms. Sydney Baker, 2011 Show Princess!

The Bee County Junior Livestock & Homemakers Show kicks-off tonight, January 27th with the Queens' and Princess' Contest.  Join us at the Bee County Expo Center at 7:00pm this evening!

The Lady Ewes & The Stock Show

Another year has rolled around for the annual Bee County Jr. Livestock and Homemakers Show and Sale. Kids have been busy feeding and working with their animals and baking and sewing their projects. The Stock Show kicks off with the Queen's Contest January 27th and ends with the Premium Sale on February 5th @2:00pm.

THE LADY EWES is one of many Buyers Groups that collects money donations to help purchase these projects. Most kids will not have buyers to help purchase their projects or will not will get a Champion Ribbon to guarentee them the best price. 

Any size donation is appreciated. It all goes to the kids and will help with the purchase of their future projects or with their college fund.

Haws Lamb Brings $10,000 in Stock Show Special Sale

Jordan Haws was the top dog in Saturday's Bee County Livestock and Homemakers Show Special Sale. At 10,000 dollars, Haws' lamb sold for twice price of any other animal in the sale.

All told, Skidmore-Tynan FFA and 4-H members took about 1/3 of the spots in the special sale, netting over $100,000 in award money.

Jordan Haws dominated this year's lamb show with Place 1 rankings in two separate classes. Haws was also awarded Honorable Mention in Senior Showmanship alongside Tim Crow and John Boscamp. As previously reported in the Signal, Jessica Hall and sister Erica Hall, took the Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion awards in the 2006 Bee Country Junior Livestock and Homemakers Show Poultry Division.

Rachel Mengers was awarded Champion in Junior Showmanship. Emily Mengers and Erica Hall each received Honorable Mentions in Senior Showmanship and Zachary Mengers took Junior Honorable Mention.

Bloemer, Hall, Grand Champions

The Bee County Junior Livestock and Homemakers Show is barely underway and already Skidmore-Tynan's FFA and 4-H boast two Grand Champions. Meghan Bloemer started things off Tuesday with her Grand Champion 4-H Craft Project candelabra. Sisters Jessica and Erica Hall followed Meghan's lead Wednesday, taking Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion respectively in the Poultry Division.

Commercial heifers, rabbits, market hogs, and lambs will be judged Thursday. Goats, steers, and heifers will be judged Friday. Let's hope our FFA and 4-H members can continue to build on the success of the first few days of the show!

Tori O'Brien 1st Runner Up in BCJLHS Queen's Contest

Victoria "Tori" O'Brien, representing Skidmore 4H Club, was named 1st Runner up in the Bee County Junior Livestock and Homemaker's Show Queens Contest.

Also representing Skidmore in the Queen's contest were Meghan Bloemer of Skidmore-Tynan FFA, Brittany Kopplin of Sew & Show 4-H, and Princess candidate Rachel Mengers of Skidmore 4H.

In-Laws & Out-Laws Call for Donations

Once again it's time for the Bee County Junior Livestock and Homemakers Show. For the past 9 years the In-Laws and Out-Laws have been working for the youth of Bee County with an emphasis on Skidmore. By combining the resources of local individuals and businesses, we create greater buying power at the Special Sale. Our objective is not to purchase Grand or Reserve Grand Champions, but to help area youth who don't have a buyer avoid receiving a minimum bid.

This year's Special Sale will be held February 4th. In order for our group to be successful, we need your help.
