Lions Punt, Pass and Kick September 23

The S-T Lion Club will host its annual Punt, Pass and Kick competition for boys and girls ages 7 through 12 years old on September 23rd. The competition will be limited to boys and girls who attend Skidmore-Tynan ISD or are “Home Schooled” and live within the District .

As in years past, the Skidmore-Tynan ISD coaches, headed by Athletic Director Adam Arroyo, will pitch in and handle most of the set up and measuring. The competition will begin at 9:00 a.m. in Bobcat Stadium on Saturday, September 23. Participants may register on the morning of the competition.

Trophies to be presented just prior to the “kick-off” of the October 27 football game versus Refugio. Trophies will be presented to the First, Second and Third Place competitors in each age group. All children will be presented with Participation Ribbons on the day of the competition.

Congratulations to last year's 1st place winners: 1st Place Age 7 - Lance Glew, 1st Place Age 8 - Cody Leonard, 1st Place Age 9 - Alex Acosta, 1st Place Age 10 - Brandon East, 1st Place Age 11 - Lucas Glew, and 1st Place Age 12 - Donato Salinas Jr.

Tuleta Treasures Auction Sep 9

The next Tuleta Treasures Auction will be held on Saturday, September 9, at 6:00 p.m. in the Tuleta Community Center located on the corner of Hahl and Main, Tuleta. Viewing of items will take place from 5:00 -6:00 p.m.

The event is sponsored by the Tuleta Community Improvement Program and everyone is invited to attend. General merchandise, antiques, collectibles, tools and miscellaneous items are usually up for auction at this community event. Refreshments will be available on site.

Those wishing to place their items in the auction may do so by calling 375-2558 to make an appointment. Putting merchandise in the auction is a fun alternative to holding a garage sale. Tuleta Treasures Auctions are held on the second Saturdays of the Month, September through November and March through May. For more information, please call the number listed above.
