Ofilia Alaniz Garcia of Tynan died January 20, 2007 at age 73. Mrs. Garcia was a homemaker and member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.Mrs. Garcia is survived by her husband, Guadalupe; five daughters, Delia Menchaca and Elia Barrientes of Tynan, Gregoria Menchaca of Moore, Oklahoma, Ofelia Garcia of Premont, and Emilia Garcia of Skidmore; two sons, Guadalupe Garcia Jr. of Sinton and Juan Garcia of Tynan; three sisters, Ageda Lopez of Corpus Christi, Siria Canales of Tynan and Virginia Vidaurri of Abilene; a brother, Pioquinto Alaniz of Refugio; 25 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Mass was celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church on Tuesday, January 23. Mrs. Garcia was laid to rest in Tynan's Waldheim Cemetery.
