Merced M. Hernandez Jr., of Skidmore, died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2006 at the age of 52. Mr. Hernandez was born July 27, 1953, in Beeville to Mercedes and Maclovia Medina Hernandez. He was a roughneck for Grey Wolf Drilling of Houston and a Catholic.Survivors include his wife, Belia Puentes Hernandez; daughters, Ruby Ann Hernandez of Skidmore; stepdaughter, Sandra Vega of Beeville; son, Mathew Hernandez of Skidmore; stepson, Ernest Guerra of Arlington; sisters, Susana Peres of Wharton, Jacinta Del Bosque and Elvira Hernandez, both of Beeville, and Loysa Salinas of Skidmore; and four grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, February 13th at Immaculate Conception Church in Skidmore. Mr. Hernandez will be laid to rest in Skidmore's Evergreen Cemetery.
