A Regular Meeting of the Board of Trustees of Skidmore-Tynan ISD was held Monday, September 11, 2006, at 6:00 p.m. in the S-T ISD Board Room. Mr. Thomas Mengers addressed the board in the "Public Forum" portion of the meeting. Mr. Mengers, referring to a specific agenda item, suggested that consultation with the District's lawyer was inappropriate if that consultation involved Trustee actions taken prior to election, or actions taken outside a legally called board meeting.
There was one action item on the meeting agenda: Action to retain school's legal counsel to communicate with the Attorney General's office regarding any and all matters on alleged investigation regarding Skidmore-Tynan ISD's Board members and staff (Mr. Rick Olivares). This item was tabled after superintendent Dr. Brett Belmarez noted the meeting under investigation was not a board matter as it took place after the regular meeting had adjourned.
Trustees adjourned to closed session for consideration to Approve memo to Dr. Belmarez - failure to follow through (Mr. Olivares). No action was taken on this item.
Trustees approved the hiring of Kathy Rittiman as an Intervention Teacher. Mrs. Rittiman was formerly employed at Taft ISD.
