Maria Cortinas Rodriguez died September 6, 2006 at age 78. Mrs. Rodriguez was born September 25, 1928 to Pedro and Aurelia Cortinas in Rivera, was raised in Robstown, and later moved to Corpus Christi, Texas.Mrs. Rodriguez was a Catholic, loved cooking, and enjoyed sharing crafts with family and friends. She was a housewife most of her life and worked as a housekeeper for an apartment complex prior to retirement. Maria is remembered as a very loving wife, mother, and grandmother. “Nana” will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.
Mrs. Rodriquez was preceded in death by her son Manuel Rodriguez Jr., parents Pedro and Aurelia Cortinas Sr., and a brother Pedro Cortinas Jr. She is survived by her husband Manuel D. Rodriguez Sr.; her children: Yolanda Escobar, David (Mary) Rodriguez, Diana (Mike) Montiel, Dalia (David) Gonzales, Carlos Rodriguez, and Gracie (Ruben) Gomez; 19 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; her sisters: Inez (Frank) Vela, Consuelo (Gabriel) Aleman, and Manny Schmidt; brothers: Vicente (Anita) Cortinas, and Jose (Rosa) Cortinas and numerous other relatives.
Mrs. Rodriguez was laid to rest in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Corpus Christi.
