100th Anniversary of International Women's Day

Find Out More About IWD!
Today is the global day of celebrating the economic, political, and social achievements of women's past, present, and future.  Suffragettes, derived from the word "suffrage" meaning the right to vote, campaigned for women's right to vote, having their first International Women's Day in 1911.  Women have only been legally allowed to vote in the Unites States since 1920.  International Women's Day (IWD) honors the work the suffragettes did, the success we have had, and reminds us of the inequalities still to be redressed.
