The purpose of this tournament is to raise money for the Greg Stewart Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship has been set up in honor of our fallen comrade and awarded to those graduating high school seniors seeking a career in Law Enforcement/Criminal Justice or other related fields. Mr. Stewart was a seven year veteran with the Beeville Police Department and an active duty member of the Army National Guard. On the weekend of May 7, 2006, Mr. Stewart was in San Antonio, Texas attending his monthly military obligation, when he was shot three times during a failed robbery attempt. Mr. Stewart fought valiantly but succumbed to his injuries on May 15, 2006. At that time Mr. Stewart left behind a 4 year old son. Mr. Stewart represented our Police Department, our association, and the Armed Services with honor, dignity, respect, and selfless service. Our hope is that his memory and spirit will continue to shine through the works of our young men and women, who have courageously chosen to defend our homes, our cities, and our country.
We as an association are asking you the merchants, businesses, and public to be an integral part of this event. We are asking sponsorship and /or donations for each of the 18-hole tournament course. Donations/sponsorships are $100 minimum and your business and/or name will be prominently advertised. Your generosity is greatly appreciated and we look forward to working with you to make this event a success. Four man scramble $200 team and $50 person.
