The 19th Annual Skidmore-Tynan Lions Club Punt, Pass, and Kick competition saw a record turnout this year thanks to the help of the S-T ISD Elementary and Junior High faculty and staff who helped spread the word about the annual competition. Thirty eight children competed for the opportunity to advance to District competition in Angleton, Texas on October 24, 2009. Results follow:7 Year Olds: 1st Caleb Vickery, 2nd Logan Schanen, 3rd Cain Moya, 4th Jeremiah Fuentes, 5th Drayden Koenig, 6th Brandon Aguilar. Participants: Mathieu Mortensen, Avea Gonzales, Declan McCarn, Danielle Leafty, Klayton Alvarado.
8 Year Olds: 1st Brenden Boales, 2nd Jacob Gutierez, 3rd Cole Terry, 4th E.J. Colmenero, 5th Nathan Coronado, 6th Alyssa Arroyo. Participants: Samuel Benavidez, Storm Toelkin, Jarel McFadden, Caitlin Leonard, Kayla Rutkowski, Marcus Hinojosa.
9 Year Olds: 1st Jordan Chavarria, 2nd L.C. Hennig, 3rd Timothy Leafty, 4th Tyler Keels, 5th Breann Brown
10 Year Olds: 1st Joseph Boeckel, 2nd Dustin Toelken, 3rd Donovan Green, 4th Amy Hernandez

The Skidmore-Tynan Lions extend a special thanks to Coach Adam Arroyo and the rest of the S-T ISD coaching staff who have now supported the Punt, Pass, and Kick competition for 20 straight years.

You are invited to the Skidmore-Tynan Open Reunion. All-School! All-Ages! Saturday October 24, 2009 at the Tynan Recreation Hall in Tynan, Texas.
The Skidmore-Tynan Lions Club announces its upcoming Punt Pass & Kick competition, Saturday, September 19th at 10:00 a.m. The annual event is open to boys and girls who turned 7 to 12 years old on or before June 30, 2009. Contestants in each age division will compete for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies to be awarded at a home football game. All children will receive a participation ribbon on the day of the competition and 1st place entrants are eligible to advance to District Competition.
The Skidmore Historical Society meets on the second Tuesday of each month at the Skidmore Museum. Dick Segelkin informs the Signal there will be a special guest, old-time Skidmore resident Gene Herrmann, at the September 8th meeting. All are welcome to attend.
