Catholic Church Offering Childrens Religious Education Classes

Childrens Religious Education classes for the 2009-2010 year will begin in Immaculate Conception Parish on Sunday, September 6th immediately following the 9:00 a.m. Mass. Parents can stop by the breakfast room in the Religious Education building that morning, to fill out registration forms. Alternately, you can pick up registration forms in the parish office during regular hours, or get them from the parish's Director of Religious Education, Wanda Mortensen.

The grade groupings and teachers for this year are as follows:
7th - 12th grade : Sylvia Olivares
3rd - 6th grade : Roxanna Zavala
Second Year First Communion Class : Reeys Falcon
First Year First Communion Class : Christine Soto
Pre-K and Kindergarden : Debbie Lopez

In addition, parent volunteers are needed to be an aide in each classroom. There will also be a sign-up sheet to provide breakfast items, snacks and/or drinks for the students each Sunday.

Get on the Game Bus

S-T ISD will once again provide its popular gas-saving community bus service to out-of-town varsity football games. Those wishing to reserve a seat on the bus must sign up early and pay a $2 fee at the S-T ISD administrative office. A minimum of seven riders are required in order to offer bus service. The bus departs from the S-T ISD cafeteria parking lot. Go Bobcats!

Bobcats to Scrimmage Aransas Pass

The Bobcats will scrimmage against Aransas Pass, Friday, August 21, at Bobcat Stadium in Skidmore. Entry into the scrimmage will be the donation of a towel or bottled shower soap. The Junior Varsity will scrimmage at 5:00 p.m., followed by the varsity.

S-TISD To Host Welcome Back Party

Skidmore-Tynan ISD (7th-12th grades only) is planning a "Welcome Back" street dance and party Thursday, August 13, from 7:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. S-TISD is hosting the party to welcome back students and encourage student spirit. Socialize; dance if you’d like; and hang out. Security will be provided by Skidmore-Tynan ISD staff.

Returning 7th through 12th graders may bring one guest (can be from another district). The party will take place at the front parking lot of Skidmore-Tynan ISD. Admission is free. Music will be supplied by DJ Tony Guerrero of Beeville and a concession stand with snacks and drinks will be available at reasonable prices.

S-T Offers Free Sports Gold Card to 65 & Older

Skidmore-Tynan ISD invites local residents over 65 to come out and support our athletic teams at no charge. A gold card can be picked up at the Administration office with a valid ID which would allow local seniors free admission to all home games. With football and volleyball season right around the corner, we encourage all to come out and cheer on your favorite team!

Son of S-T Graduate Competes in Junior Olympics

10 year old Kolton Allen, son of Skidmore-Tynan Class of 83' grad Kevin Allen and wife Georgia of Lexington Tx, and grandson of Rita Allen of Corpus Christi, recently qualified in the 3000 meter run for AAU Jr. Olympics Nationals in Des Moines, Iowa.
