Skidmore-Tynan Junior High Takes 1st Place in the District 30 AA UIL Academic Meet for the Second Consecutive Year

Skidmore-Tynan Junior High School hosted the District 30 AA meet on January 23, 2010. The young Bobcats and Lady Cats kept the first place plaque at home as they scored 672 points to win the meet.

Ninety Three students from Skidmore-Tynan competed with students from Bloomington, Banquete, Taft, Odem-Edroy and Refugio Middle Schools in eighteen different academic events.

There were over four hundred students and well over one hundred faculty, staff and parents from the participating schools on the Skidmore - Tynan Campus. “With the help of our wonderful faculty, staff and VIPS parents, the entire meet ran smoothly” said Debbie Adamez who coordinated the entire event.

There will be an awards ceremony on the 12th of February to recognize the accomplishments of these students.

S-T Elementary 1st at District UIL Meet


For the 2nd year in a row, Skidmore-Tynan Elementary captures 1st Place at the District 30-AA Academic UIL Meet

Skidmore-Tynan Elementary hosted the District 30-AA Elementary UIL Meet on Saturday, January 9 and captured 1st place with 494.65 points. Other districts participating in the UIL competition include: Odem - 2nd place with 251.85 points; Banquete - 3rd place with 158 points; Refugio – 4th place with 114 points; Bloomington – 5th place with 71 points; and Taft – 6th place with 65.5 points. The students participated in 21 events, and S-T elementary students placed in every event! An Awards Assembly will be held to recognize the accomplishments of these students. The school faculty and staff are very proud of the students and appreciate the support and encouragement from the parents.
