Breakthrough in MedTech and Bioscience

People often say the with all the advancements today, technology is advancing rapidly. It is important not forget that technology embraces a wide world of sciences, includng medicine. Regardless that this isn't one of my columns, I felt it was important to share.

Australian scientists have discovered that crocodiles have a highly robust immune system capable of seeing off some penicillin-resistant bacteria. Experts there are collecting blood from crocodiles. They they're trying to develop a powerful antimicrobial drug for humans with HIV. Tests showed that the crocodile's immune system actually kills the HIV virus. MSNBC reports crocodiles need a super immune system to prevent life-threatening infections. Let's hope this is the one.
