In Memoriam: Margie Petrus

Marjorie Evelyn Rylant Petrus, of Skidmore, died Tuesday, October 31, at age 84.

Mrs. Petrus was born November 8, 1921, in Emory, Texas to the late Mamie Beatrice Roan and William Hershel Rylant. She was a 1938 graduate of Skidmore-Tynan high school and a member of Skidmore United Methodist Church. She worked for Alamo Moving, was a Tax Assessor-Collector for S-T ISD, a clerk at the tax office for the city of Beeville, treasurer for Skidmore Ambulance Service, and recording secretary for Skidmore United Methodist Church in Skidmore.

Mrs. Petrus is survived by a sister, Louise Disbro, of Premont and Sugar Land. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Jo Lively, and brother, Don Rylant.

Visitation is Thursday, November 2nd from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home in Beeville. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, Rev. Jason Calvert officiating. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery in Beeville.
