S-T Open Reunion an Opportunity to Catch Up with Old Friends

Preparations are underway for the 3rd Skidmore-Tynan Open Reunion. S-T ISD graduates of all ages are encouraged to attend the reunion at the Tynan Recreation Hall November 3, 2007.

"With the great success we had with the 2005 reunion, plans will remain about the same," said reunion co-organizer Robert Sugarek. There will be no written invitations. News of the reunion will passed by word of mouth, email, and press releases to local newspapers. There will be no reserved seating and guests are encouraged to come early and stay late. Don't forget to bring along photos, albums, and memorabilia for early display. Each family is asked to bring two covered dishes (meats, salads, vegetables, or dessert) plus serving utensils. Paper plates, cups, silverware, tea, and coffee will be furnished. Beer, sodas, and water will be available for purchase from the Tynan Hall.

Volunteers will be needed to help with serving, hosting, and activities. Contact David Flores at 361-664-8046 for an early morning golf game. Anyone interested in card games, dominos, horse shoes, or volleyball may gather a group to organize the activity.

Doors will open at 3:00 p.m. Food will be served from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. with music by the Galloway Brothers at 8:00 p.m. The hall will close at 12:00 p.m. A $5 donation is asked of singles – $10 for couples. If you have questions about the reunion, please contact Felix Fojtik at 361-765-2923, Robert Sugarek at 361-287-3845, Wilma Zdansky at 361-358-3273, Gerald & Jo Ann Holubec at 361-547-9926, or Joyce Schubert Sherrer at 361-364-4704.

A reunion follow-up will be published in the Skidmore Signal and the Bee-Picayune's Skidmore Sketches.
