Fans to Choose Stadium Home Side

The newly constructed west-side grandstands at Bobcat Stadium.

S-T ISD recently announced the relocation of the "home" side of the football field to the west side of Bobcat Stadium. Hearing a few mixed reviews from fans, the District has decided to conduct a couple of trial runs before deciding to make the move permanent. "We're going to try it out at the first two home games," said S-T ISD Athletics Director Adam Arroyo. "If it doesn't work out for fans, we'll move everyone back to the east side for homecoming."

During the trial run, steps will be taken to address some of the concerns voiced so far. A small concessions area will be set up for home fans, and NHS students will assist by selling concessions items in the stands. A "Gator" will be on hand to provide transportation for the elderly and handicapped.

In addition to facing away from the sun, the newly constructed west-side grandstands offer expanded seating, a higher angle view of the field, 1st-row wheelchair slots, and generously sized handicapped ramps. The drawback is that fans will face longer walks to parking and restrooms.

The District is asking for feedback after Friday's game versus Bishop. Please leave helpful feedback below, or contact a District administrator. Please be constructive in your commentary.
