Lots of Fun at S-T Basketball Camp

Coach Grimes presents Zachary Mengers with a skill award.

Skidmore-Tynan students had the opportunity to meet two of our new coaches as they participated in a week-long basketball camp. Coaches Joseph L. Grimes III and Joseph Goynes led the camp for children entering 3rd through 9th grades. Instruction included such basic skills as dribbling, passing, and shooting, along with slightly more complex teamwork drills. The coaches did a great job mixing instruction with fun and games. Each session ended with the ever popular game "Knockout" and presentation of skill awards in the form of collectible basketball cards. By all accounts, the kids had a great time playing ball, getting to know the new coaches, and trading their new cards after practice. The camp culminated with a final written evaluation of each player and the presentation of souvenir t-shirts.
