S-T Bonfire Highlight of Homecoming Week

Bobcat fans watch as the S-T is lit.

Bobcat fans turned out in mass to view the now traditional lighting of the "S-T" bonfire. The lighting of the letters, constructed by members of Mr. Garcia's FFA class, has become an integral part of Bobcat Homecoming week festivities. The high school band was on hand to provide stirring music as the Bobcats rallied in preparation for Friday night's game versus Banquete.

Coaches and players each took their turn at the microphone prior to the lighting ceremony. Coach Arroyo announced he would sing a song but apparently thought better of it. Coach Ray made the most of his appearance as he ran down the line delivering "high fives" to each of the players. After his speech, he joined in the birthday song as he introduced birthday boy Rob Boscamp. Senior Dionel Colmenero called on fans to come watch the Bobcats kick Banquete's... well, you get the idea.

"We should all be proud of what we have here in Skidmore" said Dr. Belmarez - the final speaker of the evening. On that note, the stadium lights were cut and the bonfire lit to cheers from Bobcat fans.

Coach Ray gives Rob Boscamp a hard time.
