Skidmore-Tynan ISD Schools Earn State Recognition

Skidmore-Tynan Elementary School and Skidmore-Tynan Junior High in the Skidmore-Tynan ISD have both received Gold Performance Acknowledgment for Commended Performance from the Texas Education Agency. To receive Commended Performance in the Gold Performance Acknowledgement Program, the percent of students scoring at or above the established commended performance standard on the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) must be 20 percent or higher.

Skidmore-Tynan Elementary School received the designation of Commended in Writing, while Skidmore-Tynan Junior High earned its award for being Commended in both Reading and Writing.

The Gold Performance Acknowledgment system was enacted by the Texas Legislature in 2001 to acknowledge districts and campuses for high performance on indicators of performance other than those used to assign accountability ratings. Congratulations to those schools. --S-T ISD Online
