Lilia Casanova Almendarez of Skidmore, died Thursday, July 6, 2006 at the age of 96.Mrs. Almendarez was born Feb. 9, 1910, in Skidmore, to the late Espididion "Flaco" Casanova and Maria Luna. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Skidmore.
Mrs. Almendarez is survived by her daughters, Bertha Lopez and Elva Popham, both of Skidmore; sisters, Gumicinda Garza of Mathis, Beatrice Segovia of Houston, and Emma Escamilla of Robstown; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: three sisters and two grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 8th at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home, the Rev. Lee Bevly officiating, with burial to follow at Skidmore's Evergreen Cemetery.
