New Elementary Building for S-T ISD

Skidmore-Tynan ISD announced earlier this year that the decision for building a new elementary school would be up to the community. The recommendation for building the new school came from, Paul Trautman, who had been studying the condition of the three S-T ISD campuses. Mr. Trautman also suggested moving the location of the school.

Tuesday the voters turned out to decide the fate of the elementary school and the majority of the community agreed that a new school building was needed. It will be built west of the football field on 27 1/2 acres of land already purchased.

The Texas Association of School Administrators also recommended the building of a new high school in the future, due to classrooms being smaller than state minimum standards and the cost-effective issue of fixing the school for long-term use.
