State Bound Band Ensemble Performs at Art Opening

Saxophone ensemble John Salinas, Victoria Lopez, Zach Petrus, and Nick Gentry recently earned a berth in state competition. The group repeated its award winning performance at the opening of the S-T High School Art Exhibit at the school library. Ensemble member John Salinas wowed the assembled parents, teachers, and students with his solo performance of Pachelbel's "Canon in D." While enjoying the excellent live musical performances, attendees perused the various visual artworks on display throughout the library. Congratulations to all students earning a spot in the exhibition and also to art instructor Calistro Garcia, and band director Florencio Lara, for bringing out the best in their students.
