Foul Weather Fails to Deter Skidmore Trick-or-Treaters

Threatening clouds hover over Skidmore. This photo was taken on Hwy 181 a few miles north of town and it may just be our imagination, but those sure look like funnel clouds on the horizon.

A cold front blew into town just as local Trick-or-Treaters hit the streets for Halloween. Occasional lightning and gusty winds no doubt kept a few children home for the evening but others took the inclement weather in muddy stride.

Super heroes were popular this year. We spotted several children dressed up as Spiderman and Wanda Mortensen writes in her "blog" of at least one creative home-made "Doc Oc" costume. There were several princesses, an army man, a fairy, assorted horror movie favorites, from the and one little boy dressed up as his grandmother complete with nightgown and curlers. As usual, some costumes defied identification altogether.

These folks didn't let a little nasty weather stop them from having a good time.
