Korean Veterans Honored in Special Liberty Tree Ceremony

On Monday, November 14th, veterans of local Beeville VFW Post 9170 and Ladies Auxilliary, along with community members and representative of S-T ISD, gathered beneath the big oak tree at the entrance of Skidmore's Evergreen Cemetery to honor those who died in the Korean War and to recognize those few veterans still among us.

The Skidmore-Tynan band played the National Anthem and a beautiful rendition of "Taps" during the ceremony.

Spectators applaud as the plaque is unveiled.

Local dignitaries in attendance included, State Representative Yvonne Gonzalez Toureilles, County Judge Jimmy Martinez, and County Commissioners Ronnie Olivares, Eloy Rodriquez, Susan Stasny, and Carlos Salazar.
