S-T ISD fourth grader Kati Stroman earned 1st place in the annual S-T ISD Science Fair. MySouTex.com has the story:
The Skidmore-Tynan Battling Bobcat Band, under the direction of Homer Yzaguirre, traveled just down the road to Sinton to participate in the Regional competition Wednesday, March 12. The band received a II rating - a considerable improvement over the IV they received at the same competition in 2007. Said S-T ISD Superintendant Dr. Brett Belmarez,"This improvement has given Mr. Yszguirre and the band a great building block and sense of renewed pride."

In the "better late than never" side of the news, Skidmore-Tynan competed in the February 16, 2008, Odem Owls Relays. Skidmore-Tynan results follow:
S-T ISD Junior High student Kevin Lopez was named the National Science Merit Award Winner by the United Sates Achievement Academy. He was nominated by S-T JH teacher Amanda Stafford for his excellent work in the subject of science.
